Introduction of Company

Defence Korea, a subsidiary of SONID, specializes in the domestic production of anti-terrorism equipment, advanced robotics and military-grade technology. We actively engage in strategic collaborations with numerous international partners. Our ongoing initiatives encompass the localization of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) robots, disaster and hazard monitoring, the development of domestic firefighting drones and military equipment solutions.

A noteworthy achievement in our portfolio is the successful development of a domestically produced EOD recoilless cannon, boasting an impressive 99% recoilless capability. This innovative technology has been seamlessly integrated into our explosive ordnance disposal robots, significantly enhancing their operational efficiency and safety.

 

Furthermore, Defence Korea is at the forefront of developing security robots that leverage CCTV deep learning technology and cutting-edge AI algorithms. We are also actively involved in the creation of robust industrial and security boundary systems to fortify safety and security measures.

 

Our corporate headquarters are strategically positioned in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi Province, and Seoul, with our cutting-edge manufacturing facilities based in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province. We are committed to pioneering advanced technology solutions to address the evolving needs of our esteemed global clients and partners.

History

2021

In March,  Defence Korea Co., Ltd. was established.

In May, Defence Korea solidified its position as a key South Korean partner by signing an exclusive partnership agreement with Łukasiewicz-PIAP, a Polish state-owned research institute. This partnership resulted in a contract for the repair and maintenance of Marine Corps Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) robots.

In October, Defence Korea entered into an exclusive partnership agreement with Nexter Robotics, a French state-owned enterprise, further bolstering its global collaborations.

In December, Defence Korea secured a contract for the repair and maintenance of Marine Corps EOD robots and a supply agreement for the Łukasiewicz-PIAP "GRYF" EOD robot with the Korean National Police Agency.

2022

Defence Korea signed a supply contract with the Presidential Security Service (Cheong Wa Dae) for Nexter Robotics' reconnaissance robots.

Participation in the DX Korea Exhibition: Exhibited Łukasiewicz-PIAP's EOD robots, Nexter Robotics' reconnaissance robots, and recoilless cannons.

Attracted investment from SONID Corporation, acquiring a 50% stake.

In December, a supply contract was signed with the Korean National Police Agency

for Łukasiewicz-PIAP's EOD robot, "FENIX 3.0."

2023

In 2023, Defence Korea expanded its international presence by participating in the SHOTSHOW 2023 in Las Vegas, USA, and IDEX 2023 in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

In April, the company attended the "Smart Construction Technology Seminar" organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, introducing Łukasiewicz-PIAP's IBIS robot.

Defence Korea received the Ministry of National Defense's Excellence Award for its recoilless cannons, recommended for pilot use.

An agreement was signed with Kapri Corp in India for the purchase of recoilless cannons

and explosive detectors.

In June, The company showcased its products at the Daejeon Defense Industry Parts

and Equipment Exhibition and the Advanced Defense Exhibition.

In September, Participation in the 2023 MSPO Defense Exhibition in Poland further solidified Defence Korea's global presence.
